Summer is in full swing, and we’re celebrating with another special Crystals + Cocktails night at Four Finger Distillery on August 20. This time, we’re embracing the energy of late summer — the warmth, the abundance, and the gentle shift toward a new season — all while crafting our own crystal bracelets.
August is a time of transition. The peak of summer begins to mellow, the days start to get shorter, and we find ourselves reflecting on the goals we set earlier in the year. It’s a powerful moment to pause, take stock of our growth, and set intentions for the months ahead. The energy of late summer is about harvesting what we’ve planted, celebrating our progress, and preparing for the change to come.
During this fun, laid‑back evening, you’ll learn how we design our signature crystal bracelets and enjoy a cocktail (included with your ticket).
You’ll choose from a stunning trio of Goldstone colors — Green, Blue, and Red — each one beautiful and unique, yet all sharing the same rich history and powerful healing properties.
Goldstone has a fascinating history that dates back to Venetian glassmakers in the 17th century. According to legend, the stone was discovered accidentally when a monk spilled copper shavings into molten glass, creating a sparkling, glittering effect. The glassmakers in Venice perfected the technique, and the resulting material became known as “goldstone.”
However, some believe the origins of goldstone go back much further. There are claims that the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Chinese all possessed the secret to creating this sparkly glass. The true Venetian method was a closely guarded secret for centuries, making goldstone a prized and valuable material.
Today, goldstone is still made using traditional techniques, primarily in Italy and India. It continues to be cherished for its beauty and its energetic properties.
Goldstone is a man-made glass, not a naturally occurring mineral. It is created through a process that involves melting together:
The mixture is heated to extremely high temperatures until it becomes molten. During the cooling process, the copper particles crystallize, creating the beautiful glittering effect that goldstone is known for.

Like our previous classes, this workshop is beginner-friendly and will last about one hour. While you craft, you’ll have the opportunity to relax, grab a drink, enjoy delicious pizza from Pi Indy, and connect with fellow makers. Four Finger Distillery will also have their full menu of cocktails and mocktails available.
We’ll also have our full jewelry collection on display for anyone interested in doing a little shopping or picking up something special just for themselves.
